The centre currently provides the following services with the help of volunteers:
- Community Car Service –
an invaluable local service for anyone needing to make certain journeys for which no family car or public transport is available.
- Befriending Support –
supporting individuals in their own homes, helping them to retain independence.
- Resource Centre –
providing information on community, health and transport to the local community.
We also provide a brokerage service for other local community groups and projects, helping them to recruit volunteers by advertising opportunities through our quarterly newsletter, website and Resource Centre.
The Centre aims to provide a resource to the people of Southwold, Reydon and nearby villages, offering a range of ‘helping-hand’ services such as:
- signposting to other organisations
Driving is the service in most demand. With the continued deterioration in rural bus services, it is a vital resource for local people who do not have their own transport.
